Foreweek App Icon

We care about your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Foreweek app (“App”), developed by Rahul Chowdhury (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects and how we use it.

By using Foreweek, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Foreweek is designed to collect as little information about you as possible. You don’t need an account, and we never see your goals.

No Account

Foreweek does not require you to create an account with us.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any login credentials to use the App.

App Data

The data you create within Foreweek includes:

  • Goals and their titles
  • Items in your inbox
  • The days and weeks you plan goals for
  • Goal priorities and completion status
  • Summaries of past weeks shown in your history
  • App settings, such as your paper and pen colours, goal sort order, haptics preference, and the day your week starts

This data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account, as described below. We never receive it.

2. How Your Data Is Stored and Synced

Your app data is stored on your device.

When you’re signed in to iCloud on your device, Foreweek automatically syncs your data across your devices through Apple’s iCloud:

  • Your goals, inbox, and history are stored in Foreweek’s private iCloud database in your Apple Account
  • Your app settings are stored in iCloud key-value storage tied to your Apple Account

This data is stored and protected by Apple under Apple’s iCloud terms and Apple’s Privacy Policy. Only you, signed in to your Apple Account, can access it.

We do not operate servers that store your app data, and we have no access to your private iCloud database. This also means we cannot view, recover, or restore your data on your behalf.

If you’re not signed in to iCloud, or you turn off iCloud for Foreweek in your device’s Settings, your data stays only on your device and is not synced.

3. Analytics and Crash Reporting

To improve Foreweek’s reliability, usability, and performance, we collect limited analytics and diagnostic information using PostHog, which processes this data on our behalf. PostHog stores this data in the European Union.

This includes:

  • A pseudonymous identifier: a random ID created when you install the App and stored on your device. It is not tied to your Apple Account, name, or email address, and a new one is created if you reinstall the App
  • App usage events: information about how the App’s features are used
  • Crash and error reports: technical details such as stack traces and the state of the device when a problem occurred
  • Device information: device model, iOS version, app version, language and region settings, and time zone
  • Approximate location: when PostHog receives an event, it uses your IP address to work out an approximate location, such as your country and city. The IP address itself is then discarded and is not stored

Usage events never include the contents of your goals, inbox, or anything else you write in the App.

Foreweek does not ask for location permission and does not use your precise location.

We use this data to understand how the App is used, to find and fix bugs and crashes, and to help when you contact us for support. Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the App working well and improving it.

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may also provide us with crash reports and diagnostic data. These are anonymised by Apple and handled under Apple’s own privacy policy.

4. Purchases

Foreweek is a one-time purchase on the Apple App Store.

  • Payments are processed entirely by Apple
  • We do not receive or store your payment information
  • We do not receive your name, email address, or Apple Account details when you buy the App

Apple provides us with aggregated sales reports, which do not identify individual buyers.

5. No Advertising or Data Selling

Foreweek does not:

  • Display third-party advertisements
  • Sell personal data
  • Share personal information with data brokers
  • Use invasive third-party advertising trackers
  • Use your device’s advertising identifier
  • Track you across other apps or websites

We only share data with Apple, for iCloud sync and App Store distribution, and with PostHog, for analytics and crash reporting.

We only collect and process the information reasonably necessary to operate and improve the App.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your app data stays on your device and in your iCloud account for as long as you keep it there.

You can delete your data at any time by:

  • Deleting goals within the App, which also deletes them from your other synced devices
  • Deleting the App from your devices, which removes the data stored on them
  • Deleting Foreweek’s data from your iCloud storage, which removes the synced copy from your Apple Account

Deleting the App does not delete the copy of your data in iCloud. To remove it, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Foreweek on your iPhone or iPad.

We keep analytics and crash-reporting data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. To ask us to delete it sooner, email help@foreweek.com with the analytics ID included in the App’s support email (see below).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Request a copy of your data where applicable
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we process your personal information
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

If you are a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Since we do not hold your app data, you can view, export, or delete it directly on your devices and in your iCloud account.

For analytics data, we can only find your records with the analytics ID included in the App’s support email, so please include it with your request. For anything else, you may contact us at any time regarding privacy-related requests.

8. Contacting Support

When you choose Contact Support in the App, it opens a pre-filled email that includes:

  • The App’s version
  • Your device model and iOS version
  • Your language, region, and time zone settings
  • Your analytics ID

This helps us understand and fix the problem you’re reporting. You can review, edit, or remove any of these details before sending the email.

Because the email includes your analytics ID, sending it lets us connect your email address to the analytics and crash data from your device, so we can investigate your issue.

If you contact us for support:

  • We will use your contact information only to respond and provide assistance
  • We do not use support communications for marketing purposes without consent
  • You may request deletion of support-related information where applicable

9. Children’s Privacy

Foreweek is not intended for children under the age of 13, or under the age of 16 in the European Union.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Data Processing

Your app data is stored by Apple in iCloud, in locations determined by Apple.

Analytics and crash-reporting data is stored by PostHog in the European Union.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the date at the bottom of this page. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the App’s release notes or on our website.

The latest version will always be available on the official website. Continued use of Foreweek after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

We encourage users to review this Policy periodically.

If you have questions about this policy, feel free to contact: help@foreweek.com
